What would David Hasselhoff Day be without a mention of his illustrious international music career? Well, okay, so he's only really incredibly popular in Germany, Switzerland, Benelux and Scandinavia, but damn, the man brought the Berlin Wall down and unified East and West Germany with his singing, you've just got to give him major props for that.
Anyway. I never understood why Hasselhoff was so big in Europe until I first went to have my ear drums insured and then took a chance and listened to two of the singles included on his Best Of cd, "Do The Limbo Dance" and "Looking For Freedom"—it's because they kinda sound like 70s disco super group Boney M, who were also really big in Europe albeit many years before Herr Hasselhoff would first conquer European hearts with his moving portrayal of Michael Knight in the television series "Knight Rider".
